Playson Slots and Games

Written by Daniel Last updated: October 1, 2026

Playson is a UK-licensed slot developer whose games include Coin Strike, Fire Temple and Solar Queen. Its Hold and Win games have different rules: Coin Strike collects coin values, while Fire Temple’s bonus can grow to eight rows. UK casino options and free demos appear below, followed by a comparison of five titles. The licence details and explanations of RTP and jackpots help put the games’ advertised figures in context.

You can play for free in a Playson demo and follow a bonus feature before deciding whether you like the game. In Coin Strike, watch what the collector adds up; in Fire Temple, follow the rows as they unlock. These details are more useful than the size of a demo win, which cannot predict a later session with real money.

On a phone, the expanding grid in Fire Temple is worth a closer look: can you still read the coin values when more rows open? The game’s help panel explains its symbols and controls. Demo access can vary by location, and the version shown may differ from the one a UK casino offers.

Playson slots list: five games compared

Coin Strike and its sequel make a useful starting point. Even their reel layouts differ. The table shows the base game in each case; Fire Temple’s bonus can expand beyond those initial four rows. The selection focuses on how the games work; it is not a popularity ranking.

Coin Strike: a collector among the fruit symbols

Coin Strike: Hold and Win keeps the fruit symbols and compact layout associated with classic slots. Its Strike Bonus symbol changes what happens when coins appear: landing with other coins activates the Coin Strike feature, which collects Bonus and Jackpot symbol values.

That collector works in both the main game and the Hold and Win bonus. There are four in-game jackpots, while coins landing in the main game can also activate Pile of Gold and trigger the bonus.

Coin Strike 2: what Super Strike adds

The sequel adds a fourth row and a Super Strike Coin. According to Playson’s Coin Strike 2 announcement, Super Strike collects coin values and can activate Strike Boost, awarding a multiplier of up to 10x, an instant jackpot or extra Bonus Coins.

During Hold and Win, Strike and Super Strike Coins stay in place. A Super Strike can collect the values of the Strike Coins as well as other coins, so the two collectors interact. The Grand jackpot is 1,000 times the bet. These rules belong to Coin Strike 2; the original game’s collector does not explain the whole sequel.

Royal Coins 2: nine positions on the reels

The base game in Royal Coins 2 has just nine positions and five paylines. Pile of Gold can take you from those reels into the Hold and Win bonus, where Royal Bonus is one of the features.

Playson lists four in-game jackpots for this edition. Look for Royal Coins 2 in the demo catalogue: the separately listed 3 Royal Coins introduces features covered further down this page.

Fire Temple: unlocking space for more bonus symbols

A fully filled bonus grid in Fire Temple: Hold and Win contains 40 symbols. It takes more than filling the starting rows to get there: the upper rows begin locked, and collecting Bonus symbols opens space above them, up to eight rows in total.

The reward for filling every position is the Royal jackpot of 10,000 times the bet. Playson’s feature explanation sets out that full-grid condition.

Three scatters trigger a separate free spins bonus with eight free spins. Entering either bonus does not mean you will receive the Royal prize; that award depends on filling the entire expanded grid.

Solar Queen: a ten-spin cycle

The original Solar Queen provides a change from the coin-collection games above. Its Sun feature starts a ten-spin cycle, with multipliers and wilds building through the sequence. Sticky wilds feature in the free-spins round.

Follow the cycle counter alongside the reels to see how the feature develops. Ten spins describes its structure; it is not a promise of a profitable sequence. The game covered here is the original Solar Queen.

More Playson titles and slot features

The slot library extends beyond the five games above. Our demo catalogue also includes 3 Carts of Gold, 3 Pots Riches Extra and Solar Queen Megaways. These are separate Playson titles, so search for the full name when moving between editions.

3 Royal Coins: Hold and Win shows how the studio develops an existing series. Its 3 Pots mechanic can add different features to the bonus game: green activates Twin, doubling Royal Coin symbols; red adds multipliers to cells on the outer reels; blue opens an extra reel. That changes the layout and the way coins are collected, rather than simply giving Royal Coins 2 a new theme.

About Playson and its UK licence

Founded in 2012, Playson is a gaming software developer supplying online slots to casino operators. As a slot supplier, it creates the games; the operator runs the account where you play them. Hold and Win appears across much of the selection here, although Solar Queen shows that the studio’s gameplay is not confined to that format. Our game provider guides cover other game developers if you want to compare their approaches.

For the British market, the UK Gambling Commission register lists Playson Limited under account 41337, with an active remote licence covering casino and gambling software activities. The listed company address is in Malta. This is the supplier’s record; the casino where you open an account has its own licence and player terms.

RTP, volatility and jackpot figures

The jackpot above Fire Temple’s reels and the RTP in its rules answer different questions. A jackpot tells you the prize attached to a particular result. Return to player, or RTP, describes the theoretical proportion of stakes returned over a very large amount of play. It cannot tell you what a £20 session will return.

Read the RTP for the version of the game you actually open. A figure copied from another casino or a different release is not enough to establish that version’s return. Volatility concerns how unevenly wins are distributed; neither it nor RTP tells you when the next bonus will arrive.

Keep jackpot awards separate from a game’s overall max win, too. Coin Strike 2’s 1,000x Grand and Fire Temple’s 10,000x Royal have specific rules attached. Comparing those headline numbers alone leaves out how each bonus works and says nothing about the likelihood of receiving either prize.

Playson casinos in the UK

A casino may carry Playson without offering every game in the studio’s catalogue. Our casino reviews cover account terms and the wider offering; use the casino’s current lobby to check for a particular game.

To find Playson games in a casino lobby, search the full title. Coin Strike, Coin Strike 2 and Coin Strike XXL are separate listings. A casino’s provider filter can narrow the search, but the game tile is where you should check the edition before opening it.

For new players, a welcome bonus or deposit bonus comes with the casino’s own conditions. It is separate from the bonus rounds built into these real money slots. If you plan to use bonus funds on Coin Strike 2, check that the offer includes that exact title and how its stakes count towards wagering. Free spins awarded inside the slot and promotional free spins credited by a casino are different things.

Decide what you can afford to spend before switching from a demo to real-money play. If keeping to that amount becomes difficult, our responsible gambling guide explains the tools and support available.

Playson FAQ

What are the best Playson slots to start comparing?

Start with Coin Strike and Coin Strike 2 if you want a direct comparison. The sequel adds a row and a Super Strike collector that can gather values from ordinary Strike Coins. That gives you a specific difference to look for in the demos. Neither is presented here as the most-played Playson slot in the UK.

Do all Hold and Win games use the same rules?

No. The name covers games with different layouts and bonus features. Coin Strike 2 has interacting Strike and Super Strike collectors, whereas Fire Temple unlocks extra rows. Read the rules for the individual game.

How do I compare RTP across Playson slots?

Use the help screen for each game at the casino you are considering. The highest RTP in a comparison table may belong to another version of the game. Even when the figures match, RTP alone does not describe its volatility or bonus features.

How can I check whether a UK casino has Coin Strike 2?

Search for Coin Strike 2: Hold and Win in the casino’s current game lobby. A listing for the original Coin Strike does not confirm that the sequel is available.
